Digestion is essential for our body has it helps in the secretion of important elements needed for the human body to function.
Along with the consumption of healthy food items, one must also exercise.
Following are the exercises one must practise for a good digestive system:
The first and the easiest exercise is walking. Whether one works out on a regular basis or not, walking for 30 – 60 minutes helps the best. A walk a day keeps oneself in a good mood, health is maintained, appropriate weight, eases digestion. A short walk, for about 20 – 30 mins, after a meal helps to reduce the amount of glucose in the bloodstream (a product of digestion that causes weight gain if that energy isn’t utilized).
- Brisk walking
Opting for brisk walking helps stimulate the intestinal contractility, helping with passage of stool through the colon.
- Ride a bicycle
Biking helps in digestion as it allows food to move quickly and easily through the large intestine and it controls the excess loss of water in stools. Thus, leading to a healthy digestive system.
Swimming helps maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs. Also, it helps to keep the digestive system healthy.
- Sit ups
Exercise stimulates the nervous system and helps the muscles and nerves in the gut to work better, preventing and relieving constipation. Sit ups help in the easy movement of stools. Also, sit ups help to get rid of bloating and unwanted stomach gas. Hence promoting a better digestive system.
